Wedding in LA

My brother-in-law’s wedding was on Sunday. I’m not that into weddings, but they seemed happy to get married, and it was a fun party.

Wedding outfit

Last time, I wrote about being nervous because everyone kept telling me not to overshadow the bride. It turned out to be a non-issue. In fact, many people wore unusual outfits, and the bride loved my outfit!

One of my cousins was nervous that her skirt was too short. I told her she was doing a public service: another wedding guest was probably worried her skirt was too short and looking at my cousin, thinking, “At least mine’s not that short!”

Dancing outfit

I really liked my costume change for dancing. I was glad I could dance more easily.

The corset with my dance outfit was shorter than my reception corset, which made it easier to dance. Also, the outfit exposed more skin, helping me stay cool and grip the pole. My knee pads were awesome too!

There was a pole in the dance room, and I got to show off some moves.

Dancing on the pole

Everyone in my family tried the pole, and we had a lot of fun. My friend Jerome fell on his head, but apparently years of rugby prepared him for that.

My cousin Ari asked me if I was hungover the next day. I said, “No, I didn’t drink. I was just fun!”

LA

We stayed a few extra days in LA, hanging out with friends and family.

Worked on Ledger

I continued to work on my ledger.

Waking up early vs getting sleep

Two of my healthy habits are at odds: waking up before 10 a.m. to get sunlight and getting enough sleep.

Trying to wake up earlier and get sunlight has been leaving me sleep-deprived. I can’t control when I fall asleep; I can only make myself wake up early. Even though waking up early has helped me go to bed earlier, I still can’t fall asleep early enough to wake up before 10 a.m. without feeling tired later in the day.

Sick again

I was mildly sick this week, and I feel like I’ve been sick too many times this year. Maybe travel is responsible? Or too much dairy…
