Worked on my ledger

I worked a lot on my ledger. I like my new process of running the code design document through a series of increasingly expensive audits. I am still struggling with Claude’s terrible writing. I feel like I waste so many tokens telling Claude to rewrite its last response following my output styles.

I ran through the Claude and Codex $20 plans by Monday evening. I left a few tokens for small tasks throughout my week. My Claude resets Friday and my Codex resets Monday.

I considered upgrading one of the plans, but I am leaving for LA midweek. So I will hold off and work on something else.

Collected more REM-to-wake data

I finally got back into collecting data for my REM-to-wake predictions model.

I changed the hardware settings on my OpenBCI to work with my new anti-acne configuration. With this configuration, I wear electrode stickers on my chin EMG channels. With stickers, the gain needs to be reduced compared to gold cups. I thought the gain needed to be increased because the signal would be weaker, but the sticker electrodes actually needed lower gain. They were railed—meaning the signal was too high.

Analyzed standup transcripts

I enjoy improving my sense of humor. Occasionally, I analyze comedy to help.

I’ve been wanting a way to collect transcripts of standup bits so I can analyze them later. I finally got a tool to help transcribe standup. Notecast is a Chrome extension that transcribes any video in your browser. There are also some open-source alternatives.

Now, when I’m scrolling Facebook, I’ll collect transcripts of the standup bits I like. I try to identify which parts I liked and why. One exercise I do is take a line I like, rewrite it, and analyze whether each rewrite is better or worse and why.

Used Codex Resets site to stay aware of OpenAI token resets

Codex Resets tracks past resets and predicts future token resets. I ran out of tokens early this week, but I used Codex Resets to check whether a reset was going to happen soon or had recently happened so I could get back into my projects.

Went to LA to visit friends and family

I had lots of fun and laughter. It was so hot, though. I will post a memory in the next blog.
