Came home from visit to LA

Here is a funny moment from my trip to LA.

I was taking a picture under this art piece of the bus line in LA, called the Dash, like my name.

A lady was to my right, so I explained why we were taking the picture:

Dash: “My name is Dash.”

Lady: mumbles something

I walked away. Tallulah (my sister) laughed.

Dash: “What did she say?”

Tallulah (my sister): “She said, ‘My name is…,’ and you walked away!”

Worked on my ledger

Continued working on my ledger.

This week I found myself once again wondering why I’m in a constant loop of reviewing. My agents keep finding issues with my plans.

So I thought maybe scope creep was becoming an issue again. I realized I didn’t write my scope agent’s instructions correctly. So I rewrote them. On the next run, the scope agent caught scope issues for the first time.

I am also wondering whether I need to split my planning into high-level and low-level plans. So I started trying to turn my current feature into a high-level map.

But Codex is having trouble mapping my complex plans into simple, easy-to-understand text and diagrams. I am seeing more examples of AI being unable to explain my code and plans. It’s not just Claude Code!

Worked on taxes

Gathered business and fundraiser expenses for taxes for 2025.

Collected more standup with Notecast

I continued transcribing jokes from Facebook and analyzing them.

Dealt with ChiTribe posting Psychedelic Synagogue on their Instagram

The post did really well, but certain events made me practice letting go.

ChiTribe reworded the description. It was 80% good, but I’m very precious about the copy! (Update: they later did change the text to match what I’d written earlier.) But I would like to be okay with 80% good.

Most people liked the event. It was the most popular recent ChiTribe post!

But I also had to deal with a plethora of annoying comments.

I remind myself that the negative comments are good.

The ignorant comments boosted visibility, which brought ChiTribe a lot of views and donations.

And if there are going to be annoying people in life, it’s nice that we can at least benefit from them.

Remember, small-minded haters exist for reasons:

  1. They are an ode to your freedom. You only get comments from negative Nancys when you are living a free life.

  2. They boost visibility on your socials.

In my life, when I had the most haters, I was also the proudest of myself and made the most money I’ve ever made.
